This piece explores how protection becomes second nature: guarding our hearts, our bodies, and our sense of safety in a world that asks women to remain alert at all times. It acknowledges the tension between visibility and vulnerability, and the emotional labor of navigating space while being deeply aware of how we are perceived and positioned within it.
